Matrix reloaded_3
So let’s go back to where we were, I mean the words, Neo and Trinity: death (of the woman) linked to sexual pleasure linked to knowledge linked to a choice. When Neo passes through the door full of light, well he comes to the ‘father’ (sigh), called here the Architect, who announces him that he is as much written, programmed as anyone else in the Matrix. That he is the six one of the One if i may say so. The One chosen to reprensent a kind of controle by giving hope, belief to make the system works. Gosh I think I am telling the end… So or Neo accepts to be deconstructed, meaning his ‘code si spread’, but first he can choose people of the mankind to go on believing, reboot the machine and the system works, the game goes on. Or he wants to save Trinity and by the same way himself, himself as this peculiar agency of experiences and feelings, but in both cases, Zion will be destroyed.
Just to go on a bit on Zion. The origins of mankind is a ‘multitude’ made with beautiful young men and women of all colours, dancing with naked feet, quite sexy, don’t know what they do for living. The heads of Zion or of Matrix are white old men, patriarchal culture is in. Oh yes in Zion they are all heterosexual, I mean the ones you know, and if it is a mixed crowd, the couples don’t mix, white with white, black with black. Sometimes the lack of imagination in representation is really boring. The fights can challenge gravity, can become pure code, the Matrix is equal to a video game, the characters become virtual you see it, and it doesnt matter, what is kind of boring is the peculiar rythm of videogames: a fight, than the next character saved or met by the protagonists gives his/her enigma seated in a confortable chair, than we go on the next level, go on with our quest, I mean Neo’s, to know what the hell he is doing here. Then to go back to this ‘end’ we understand that definitely Neo’s life, is as written as a movie character can be, the thing is to know if the next episode will reaffirm this determinism or this mixed between code and human experience even in Neo’s fight against the one who wrote it/him.
Well I lost myself, let’s do a déjà -vu: The fights can challenge gravity, can become pure code, but the man/woman, the son/father, the man/man relationships in game here don’t challenge any gravity, everyone’s in one’s place (the more cliché the Merovingian couple, well they are French, that’s true, general pityful idea on gender and feminism!!).Even what is the representation of ‘real’ humans is linked to something primitive in a way: flesh, sex, rave, mud, multiculturalism means closer to the roots, to the deepth of human kind.
If evetyhing is so ordered, separated. There is the kind of equality between Trinity and Neo (‘We are at even’), when he rescues her the same way she did it in the first episode, even if repeatingly you know she is ‘nothing’. But they look the same, she is the real hacker, she is as much code as he is in the Matrix. Then you can see what you counldn’t feel this time in this movie, I mean less that in the first episode, your knowledge that in the Matrix they also are only code, so he can save (reboot) her, like she could save him. Again the code is much visible in the fights, but here is also in feelings, if I may say so. I hope that this equality will lead to somewhere in the next one, that it is not only something to attract and keep wired people like me. Also in the fight of the human ones against the others (machines), well it is not so simple, because Agent Smith is taking some liberty with his code, and some independance to the power, and Neo is more aware of his determinism, gosh will it be that equality, cloning, fusionning between this two white guys, between man and code, well that will be for the ‘Revolution’, I think.
Well maybe, I will continue, maybe not.
